Studio Calesini
A consultation structured in three phases and two appointments. Designed to provide the patient with all the information needed to make an informed therapeutic decision.
The first appointment in complex cases is a structured clinical process that requires time and attention. It is not a routine check-up. The objective is not to start “doing something”: it is to lay the foundations of a treatment pathway grounded firmly in diagnostic and prognostic terms, before any operative phase begins.
Complete medical and dental history. Clinical examination of the oral cavity. Standardised photographic documentation. Assessment of available radiographic records. Analysis of the causes that have produced the current clinical situation.
Duration: approximately 60-90 minutes.
Between the two appointments, the practice’s specialist team meets to analyse the data. The session includes a systematic review of all clinical, medical history, radiographic and instrumental data, and an open discussion of diagnostic hypotheses, differential prognosis and viable therapeutic options.
The contribution of each team member, with their respective disciplinary expertise, is the prerequisite for building a plan that accounts for all relevant clinical variables. This phase, not visible to the patient but determinant for the outcome of the treatment, is the reason why the first appointment requires two sessions.
Dr. Calesini personally presents to the patient a summary of the clinical analysis developed by the team: diagnosis, prognosis and therapeutic options with their respective timelines and costs. At the end of the meeting, the patient receives a written document containing what has been presented.
This appointment is reserved exclusively for communication and patient questions. No treatment is started.
Preparation
Recent radiographs (panoramic, cone-beam CT if available), reports from previous visits, a list of current medications, documentation of previous dental treatments if available.
If needed, any missing or insufficient clinical, radiographic or instrumental documentation will be completed during the first appointment.
Discretion
For patients who, for privacy or security reasons, require the utmost discretion, the entire practice can be made available exclusively, with appointments in dedicated time slots and no other patients on site. Exclusive access is requested at first contact and is managed with the same care given to every aspect of the treatment journey.
